Club Layouts
Romford MRS has club layouts in the 3 popular gauges. Club layouts are generally available on club evenings. They include an O gauge DCC layout, an OO DC layout, an OO DCC layout and a DC N gauge layout. A new project for 2022 is an OO gauge DC/DCC layout based on the Epping Ongar heritage railway.
O Gauge
Our O Gauge layout Hyde Clarke Town named in honour of late members is under construction. It is a large four track layout depicting a station and sidings scene. It has been designed to run British O Gauge DCC stock.
OO Gauge
We have three OO gauge layouts. Our OO gauge DCC layout (pictured) was kindly donated by a local enthusiast. We also have a DC test layout and a new DC/DCC model of North Weald, part of a local heritage railway.
N Gauge
Fairkyte Falls is our DC N gauge layout. We also have a DC/DCC layout under construction.
O Gauge
Work is progressing at a pace and we hope to have the O gauge layout operational by the new year. Recently we have delayed things to build in a new turntable and additional track features.
OO Gauge
Our OO gauge layout North Weald is nearing completion! Extra team members have really helped. The entire layout is over 10 metres in length and is operated using digital control.
New N Gauge
Our new DC/DCC N gauge layout is progressing well. New team members have really helped accelerate progress. The layout so far will be on show at our open day.
